Getting a new entertainment space in Reading

I needed a fitted bar after hosting a gathering where we lacked space. I decided to look near the Oracle Shopping Centre.

I stumbled upon the website while scrolling and sent photos. Central Bedroom and Kitchens responded with a price that felt right for the job.

The journey of organising this renovation was honestly quite detailed. I spent several hours thinking on the layout of the room before ever choosing up the device. My living area has always felt slightly incomplete, and owning a dedicated area for drinks felt like the ideal solution to that issue. I remember sitting in my hallway staring at a messy surface covered with bottles and realising that everything had to change. The first conversation with the staff was extremely straightforward, which provided me confidence. We discussed different aesthetics, from modern minimalist designs to more classic and timber finishes. I was quite surprised by how many information they requested regarding the measurements and the existing decor of my home. It felt like they genuinely wanted the final result to blend seamlessly with the balance of the property. I offered various angles in the images I uploaded, making sure each corner was visible. They explained that the custom type of the unit signified that accuracy was entirely paramount to prevent any problems during the fitting. We went forth and back on possible resources, looking at samples of quartz and various types of wood patterns. It is surprising how much thought goes into selecting the right hardware, like knobs and copyrights, which could totally change the feel of the entire build. I needed a space where I could easily mix drinks for friends without having to constantly dash back to the kitchen for ice or glasses. The ease of possessing everything in a single place was the main driver for this purchase. We finalised the design following a brief consultation where all my concerns regarding plumbing and electric points were answered. I liked that they did not hurry the design phase, taking the effort to make sure that the depth of the racks was sufficient for my tallest glassware. It felt like a joint process rather than a simple sale, which is hard to find nowadays.

The installation day arrived sooner than expected, and the technician was on time and prepared. He began by placing down protective covers to ensure my flooring remained tidy. Watching the parts being unpacked was fascinating, as the quality of the wood was immediately obvious. He meticulously verified the alignment of the floor before securing the base frame of the bar. I observed as the structure gradually gained form, transforming a boring corner into a functional feature. The degree of craftsmanship required in scribing the boards to the wonky surfaces of my older house was impressive. He mentioned how each piece slotted in to provide maximum strength. We wasted a little time deciding on the exact height for the integrated cooler, making sure it was easy to reach but hidden away from direct view. The installation of the worktop was the most rewarding moment of the whole day. Seeing the polished top at last resting on the cabinets made the vision feel real. He then fitted the mirrored backsplash, which immediately caused the space to look double the breadth. The lighting were wired afterward, and checking them for the first moment was a thrill. The soft glow underneath the shelves highlighted the bespoke home bar bottles perfectly. I could visualise precisely how handy this would be for night parties. The worker was very careful, taking the effort to wipe down every surface and remove any dust made during the cutting. He also showed me how to adjust the racks should I ever needed to house bigger items. The focus to precision was really exceptional, straight down to the sealant beads around the joins. It was obvious that he took great pride in his craft, which is consistently reassuring to witness. We conducted a final walkthrough of the finished installation to make everything was perfect. I observed that a single handle was a bit loose, and he tightened it immediately with a quick turn of a tool. This diligence was just what I was looking for when I arranged the service.

The completed bar appears completely stunning and has turned into the main feature of my downstairs. It provides a sophisticated vibe that had been previously missing from my reception room. The storage is immense, allowing me to organise all my spirits, sodas, and fancy glassware in one unified place. No more do I have to search through cluttered kitchen cabinets to find a corkscrew or a specific kind of glass. Everything has its proper place, which renders hosting much more easier and relaxing. I love the way the materials catch the light in the evenings, creating a inviting ambience. My friends have already praised the setup multiple occasions, with some even inquiring for the contact of the people who made it. It truly feels like a bespoke extra made specifically for my lifestyle. The height of the countertop is ideal for leaning around with a glass, and the integrated LED units offer just the correct level of illumination without being overpowering. Even when not in use, it serves as a beautiful piece of furniture that lifts the entire aesthetic of the house. I spent some time arranging my collection on the racks to make a visual arrangement. The glass back truly help in displaying the labels and adding depth to the small space. It has encouraged me to experiment creating different cocktails that I previously thought were too fussy to attempt in a standard kitchen. Having the sink nearby would have been nice, but the space limits meant we opted against it to preserve storage space. This was a conscious choice we made at the design stage, and I do not rue it. The extra cupboard space for napkins and tools is far more useful to me in the long term.

There were a few of minor limitations that are worth noting for a balanced perspective. The lead period for the bespoke doors was a little longer than I initially wanted. It took about eight days from the first payment to the final installation appointment. While this is understandable for high-quality work, it required a bit of patience on my end. I had hoped to have it ready for a specific birthday, but we missed that date by a week. However, the communication from the team regarding the progress was consistent, so I was never kept in the dark. I would hold a little more for a result that is built to last than receive a rushed work that breaks after a couple years. The start price quote was also slightly less than the total bill, mainly because I decided to upgrade the handles and add more inside lighting midway during the build. These adjustments were completely my decision, and the team was extremely clear about the additional fees involved. Another minor point was the amount of boxes left following the install. Although the technician tidied up the build site well, there was a large pile of cardboard to dispose of in my recycling. It wasn't a huge deal, but a thing to consider if you have limited waste space. Despite these small details, the overall journey was vastly positive. The quality of the fit is much superior to anything I might have purchased off-the-shelf. It feels solid and durable, and I am confident it will withstand decades of parties. I believe the worth it has given to my property well outweighs the upfront outlay. It has changed the way I use my living area, rendering it much more inviting. I no anymore feel cluttered when friends visit.

Thinking back on the entire project, I am truly glad I went ahead with it. The first spark originated from a visit to a friend's house in Oxford, where they had a similar bar. I saw then how much it improved the movement of the evening. When I got back to Reading, I started researching nearby firms and found that working with a specialist provider was the best way to get the precise style I desired. The ability to choose every detail, from the colour of the stain to the placement of the plug outlets, ensured the end product was exactly as I pictured. I even had a small secret compartment included for storing expensive tools like fancy spoons. This kind of personalisation is what renders the experience unique. It did not feel like a generic item being fitted into a space where it did not fit. Instead, it feels like it has always been a segment of the architecture. If you are thinking about a similar home upgrade, my advice would be to be patient and spend the effort on the design stage. It is far better to alter a sketch than it is to modify a unit once it is built. The expertise provided during the start was crucial in preventing me from making simple mistakes, such as placing the fridge too close to a heat source. These little bits of wisdom are what you pay for when you hire skilled experts. I am now planning at different parts of my home to see where further I might install built-in solutions. The outcome of this bar project has given me the confidence to tackle a larger task in the kitchen later year. It has been a wonderful upgrade to my life, and I view forward to numerous seasons of using it with relatives and pals. Finding the right mix between style and function was the goal, and I think we achieved it perfectly. The process from a messy alcove to a sleek hosting hub was truly worth the time and investment required. I now have a home that I am truly proud to show off to visitors. Reading has some great venues to go for a drink, but truthfully, I now favour being at my place and using my own personal setup. It offers the identical atmosphere without the noise or the travel. That itself is worth the whole project. I am so pleased with how the lighting works in the evening, creating a relaxing space to relax after a long shift at work. It is the little luxuries like this that render house life much pleasant and enjoyable. I highly value the workmanship that was put into the final result. The manner the doors close with a soft thud speaks plenty about the build quality. No aspect was overlooked, and the final appearance is precisely what I hoped it would be when I first began this adventure. It is a testament to the skill of the fitters and the quality of the materials utilised. I am a very happy client.
